Art Commissions
GUANGJUN ZHANG:
“My name is Guangjun. I am a Chinese artist living in Denmark, where I work as a full-time portrait and classical artist in my studio in Islands Brygge, Copenhagen. My preferred medium is oil, though I also work with acrylic, ink, graphite, and charcoal. I offer to take your art commissions and paint your portraits.
The Commission Process
While I prefer to work from life when creating portraits, it is not always possible. Therefore, I am happy to work entirely from photos, provided they are high resolution and provide the tonal detail I need. Even when painting from a photo, it doesn’t mean I will make a detailed reproduction of the photo in a photographic style.
I welcome you to visit my studio or my online gallery on the website to view my works. When we get in touch, we will discuss your ideas for the portrait, including the pose, mood, lighting, composition, size, and clothing. I want to understand the type of portrait you are envisioning and get a sense of your personality and spirit.
Agreement and Pricing
Once we have had an initial discussion regarding the size, composition, cost, procedure, etc., I will ask for a 50% payment before I begin the work. For paintings priced up to 4000 DKK, you must complete full payment up front. When the portrait is nearing completion, I will take a photo and send it to you for your feedback. I will then make any small adjustments that we agree on.
Once you approve of the final painting, I will ask you to pay the last installment, and then, I will send your commissioned portrait by courier to your address (shipping costs will depend on your location). We can also arrange a pick up at my studio. Now, You will be able to enjoy you painting for many years! Oil paintings preserve their quality and beauty for over 100 years.“
